Old Glory confirms Api Naikatini for 2021 season

Old Glory DC have confirmed that Fijian lock Apisai Naikatini will stay with the team for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. They have clarified however that the 18-test veteran is not a re-signing but in fact completing the second of his initial two-year contract.

Naikatini will enter his third MLR campaign having played a significant role for the Seattle Seawolves in their MLR Shield-winning 2019 campaign. He signed for Old Glory ahead of 2020, forming an imposing all-Fijian second row with Tevita Naqali in three starts before the season was suspended.

There will be increased competition for playing time at lock for DC in 2021 with the additions of David Beach and 1st round draft pick Casey Renaud. Old Glory have confirmed the extensions of returning players Jack Iscaro, Jamason Fa’anana-Schultz, and Thretton Palamo in recent days.
