Dogos, Peñarol and Pampas Qualify for Super Rugby Americas Semi Finals

Three teams are secured their places in the Super Rugby Americas 2025 Semi Finals. Results from the penultimate round of the competition’s regular season see Los Dogos, Peñarol and Los Pampas all mathematically assured of places in the final four.

Peñarol completed a 19-17 upset away win over Los Dogos in Córdoba on Saturday afternoon. It lifts Peñarol to top spot while, despite being beaten,, Los Dogos also went above Los Pampas. The Buenos Aires side are third on 36 points ahead of Selknam on 32, Yacare on 31, Los Tarucas on 24 and Os Cobras on 4 points.

Os Cobras play host to Los Tarucas on Sunday. A bonus point win would see the team based in Tucumán claiming five points to rise to 29 points. Their final match is against Yacare in Tucumán. If Los Tarucas win that with a bonus point they can end the regular season on 34 points.

Peñarol’s win on Saturday came after Selknam defeated Yacare earlier on in the afternoon. That result complicated the pathway for the Paraguayan franchise to reach the Semi Finals. A scenario exists for Yacare to end the season level with Los Dogos’ present total of 36 points and a further one is for Selknam to finish with 37 points. It all means that Selknam, Los Tarucas and Yacare are all in the hunt for the last remaining Semi Final spot.

The final round of the season sees Los Dogos hosting Selknam, Peñarol hosting Los Pampas and Los Tarucas at home against Yacare.
