| NOTES |
- Peñarol lost regular flanker Lucas Bianchi to injury in the win over Selknam last weekend.
- Portuguese RWC 2023 outside back Manuel Cardoso Pinto returns from injury for Peñarol.
- Argentina’s need for more scrum-half options for Los Pumas sees the position receiving plenty of attention in Super Rugby Americas. The match-up between Tomás Di Biase and Simón Benítez Cruz is between two Argentines in the conversation for potential consideration for international duty.
- Álvaro Galindo has dropped Nicolas Roger and given Juan Manuel Molinuevo a start at fly half. He played fullback in the win over Los Dogos.
- Facundo García Hamilton moves from second-row to N8 for Los Tarucas.
- The only prior match between the teams was last month. Peñarol won 21-16 in Tucumán.
| PREDICTION |
Hot off a controversial late win over Selknam, Peñarol enter the match in good stead. The Uruguayans have been playing better rugby than have Los Tarucas for most of the season. Friendly playing conditions and confidence will assist the home side. Los Tarucas’ rookie season has been a mixed bag. If they can dominate the scrum and contact areas then they are in with a good shot at winning at the home of Uruguayan rugby. Peñarol are favorites to win at home.
