Carnival Beach Rugby in St. Lucia

Carnival Beach Rugby is coming to St. Lucia this month. On July 16th the Caribbean island nation will play host to the Rugby 5’s Beach Competition. Entry is open to both men’s and women’s teams. Any interested teams are strongly encouraged to participate.

The winner takes all competition has prize money of US$1000.oo. All athletes will enter party mode following the competition. A rugby All-Inclusive Tshirt band for the Carnival Monday and Tuesday (July 17-18) is being organized. It is to cost EC$300.00.

In seeking to have a big event the organizers from St. LuciaRugby have extended the registration deadline the event to July 10th. For further information contact St. Lucia Rugby via email at stluciarugby@gmail.com

Rugby was introduced to St Lucia by a Canadian teacher, Millar Young. Along with some of his colleagues and friends started playing the game then formed the St Lucia Rugby Club in 1974. St Lucia Rugby has been a World Rugby member since 1996.
