Just when we thought things couldn’t get any quieter in the Greene King IPA Championship – they have. Week 18 will feature just three Americas players, surely the lowest number in several years. With more funding set to be invested in the league by the RFU, perhaps we will see more Americas representatives in the coming seasons.
Aaron Carpenter continues at the back of the scrum for Doncaster Knights as they face London Scottish at the Athletic Ground. With three teams sandwiched in around 3rd, 4th, and 5th spot on the table this is close to a must-win game if Doncaster hope to make the playoffs.
Cornish Pirates are one of those three in contention and they will host Jersey at the Mennaye on Sunday. Nicolás de Battista will provide midfield cover from the bench.
Bedford are out of playoff contention and with no relegation this season are safe to experiment, though pride is still on the line. They’ll face off against Nottingham on Sunday, dead even on points, with Justin Blanchet tabbed to start on the blindside flank.
