Scotland’s side for the opening round of the Six Nations has been revealed. Named in the starting lineup to take-on Ireland is Tennessee Winger Tommy Seymour. The American qualifies to play for Scotland due to his mother being from Glasgow.
Seymour will play on the left wing. He is to partner Stuart Hogg and New Zealander Sean Maitland in the starting back-three. Scotland’s selection policies see players included who play in Scotland as well as England, France, Wales and South Africa.
Captured under eligibility rules are a number of players who were not born or raised in Scotland. In addition to Seymour and Maitland there are a host of others who did not go through the Scottish system. This is trie of Allan Dell, Josh Strauss and Ryan Wilson who will also all start.
