Draw made for International Sevens SAR

The draw has been made for the International Sevens SAR. Set to take place in Guarne, Antioquia, Colombia the tournament will bring together nine Tier 3 unions to compete in a Sudamérica Rugby and World Rugby sanctioned competition.

The event will take place from July 8-9 with the host nation being the number one seed. The remaining eight teams have been distributed into pools according to their ranking. Paraguay and Peru join the hosts in leading a group.

The complete ranking from first to ninth is as follows: Colombia, Paraguay, Peru, Venezuela, Ecuador, Guatemala, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Panama. The pools are displayed below.

In pool play the three teams will all play once against each other. The top side from each pool will advance to the finals. The second and third placed countries will meet in repechage to determine who will join the winners in the finals.

Once the finals competitors have been finalized the tournament will be split into Cup, Plate, Bowl and Iron categories. All nine competing countries are to consist of twelve-man rosters for the tournament.
