A 12-man Uruguay Sevens roster has been confirmed for Mar del Plata. Los Teros 7s will compete at the Americas Seven tournament in the Argentine beach-resort city this coming weekend.
Following on from the Punta del Este 7s Head Coach Diego Rodriguez has selected a team he hopes can improve on finishing second in the Bowl Final against Pucurá. Prior to losing to the Buenos Aires club Los Teros 7s had beaten off the challenge of Chile, their potential rivals in Viña del Mar later this month in the Hong Kong Sevens qualifiers.
For now, though, the focus is firmly on the Americas Seven in Mar del Plata. The Gabriel Puig captained side will play in a tough group including Canada, South Africa and Paraguay. The roster contains Rugby World Cup 2015 winger Leandro Leivas and the experienced Guillermo Lijtenstein (pictured above).
