Six Countries to compete in Women’s Sevens in El Salvador

The governing body of Latin American Rugby, Sudamérica Rugby has confirmed the calendar for the upcoming women’s Rugby Sevens South American Championship. To be played in the Central American republic of El Salvador the competition will bring together competing teams from six countries.

On December 11 and 12 official test matches will be played involving Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama and Peru. The tournament format will see all countries facing one-another and being classified into the play-offs depending on their performance.

1st will face 2nd in the Cup Final, 3rd vs 4th in the Plate Final and 5th vs 6th in the Bronze Final. The winner of the event will qualify for the 2016 Test event in Rio de Janeiro.

The event is to be organized by the Confederación Sudamericana de Rugby in conjunction with World Rugby.
