Peru Dreaming of Future World Cups

Rugby continues to grow throughout the Americas with the South American country of Peru being no exception. In recent times the sport has undergone tremendous progress with the traditional stereotypes of it being an upper class sport fading away. Rugby is now being taught in five different Peruvian cities and is being used as a social program to help underprivileged children.

There is a long way to go but Peru’s regional partners Argentina and Uruguay are both under the close watch of those playing the sport in the country. There is a path to developing with Peru being a member of Sudamérica Rugby and the confirmed host nation for the 2015 Sudamérica B Championship.

The four nation international competition will feature the 5th-9th ranked South American countries who will gather in Lima, Peru to play at the Colegio Markham de Lima.
