Teams set for Georgia vs Canada

Both Canada and Georgia have named their lineups for the match to be played on Wednesday afternoon at 18:30 GMT in Esher, England. The game has not been given full test status due to IRB regulations, and no caps will be awarded. EDIT: Rugby Canada have been advised that the match will, in fact, have full test status and test caps will be awarded. Despite this the game will not be streamed live.

The Lelos have named a mixed side led by newly-appointed captain Mamuka Gorgodze, with Lasha Lomidze starting at no8 and Levan Chilachava of Toulon the anchor at tighthead prop. A strong midfield pairing features heavyweight Tamaz Mchedlidze and hard-tackling Merab Sharikadze, while youngster Giorgi Pruidze is another imposing figure on the wing.

Among the reserves are first choice props Mikheil Nariashvili and Davit Zirakashvili, Toulon lock Kote Mikautadze, and World Cup vice-captain Lasha Khmaladze. Former skipper Davit Kacharava should also make an appearance in the second half.

Canada will also field an experimental side, but one that looks to be inching closer towards their best lineup. Ray Barkwill returns to start at hooker in an all-Ontario front row, with Brett Beukeboom paired in the second row alongside captain Jamie Cudmore. Jebb Sinclair gets his first start of the season on the blindside flank.

Jamie Mackenzie starts at scrumhalf, while Phil Mackenzie and Nick Blevins start at left wing and inside centre respectively. Phil Mack, DTH van der Merwe, and Connor Braid are all rested after a physical match in Halifax, and Gordon McRorie returns among the reserves.

Both sides will play full test matches on the weekend, with Georgia facing Japan in Gloucester and Canada lined up against Fiji at the Stoop.

EDIT: Canada have confirmed their lineup, Doug Wooldridge has dropped out with Andrew Tiedemann taking his place at tighthead prop, Jason Marshall will cover on the bench. Kyle Gilmour is the loose forward reserve, with Richard Thorpe out of the match day roster.
