Remembering Mexico vs Jamaica two months before RWC

Rugby World Cup 2015 will get underway two months from today on September 18 2015 with England hosting Fiji at London’s Twickenham Stadium. As the countdown to the tournament continues take a look back at where the 2015 edition of the Rugby World Cup began with Mexico playing host to Jamaica in a Rugby World Cup Qualifier.

In an effort to promote the match World Rugby, then the International Rugby Board (IRB) sent senior referee Craig Joubert to officiate the fixture. Also present were IRB officials including chairman Bernard Lapasset.

Neither Mexico nor Jamaica are yet to qualify for a Rugby World Cup. Both are NACRA members and play in Caribbean international competition. Their region will be represented by Canada and the USA at this year’s Rugby World Cup.
