Osaiasi Tonga’uiha joins brother Moni on NOLA roster

Osaiasi Tonga’uiha has signed on with the NOLA Gold for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 22-year-old followed older brother Moni to the club in 2020 when he was part of the extended roster, appearing in the preseason game against Rugby ATL.

Originally from Oakland, California, Tonga’uiha also followed the path from the Life West Gladiators to New Orleans. With Moni already successfully making the shift from outside center to blindside flanker, Osaiasi has also begun to transition from the midfield to the back row.

It’s the second loose forward signing in as many days for NOLA, following the announcement of Giovanni Lapp. Meanwhile the club has nailed down one preseason game. NOLA will travel to Houston for a match against the SaberCats on Saturday, March 6, at AVEVA Stadium.
