Brazil upset Argentina on Day One of Sudamérica Sevens

Brazil upset Argentina 19-10 on the opening day of the Sudamérica Sevens on Saturday. Daniel Sancery’s breakaway try sealed the surprise victory for the Tupis, who also recorded a win by a record margin over Uruguay.

Day One started with a 12-12 draw between Brazil and hosts Chile. Los Cóndores went on to record a narrow 7-0 result over Uruguay in their second match. Brazil’s win over Argentina saw Los Pumas responding to hammer Chile in the final game of Day One.

The tournament is being played at the Estadio Elías Figueroa Brander in Valparaiso. Argentina have already qualified for the Tokyo Olympics while Brazil and Chile can still do so via the final repechage tournament.

Day Two will be streamed live on the Sudamérica Rugby app.
