Chile take 30-man roster to Uruguay for South American 4 Nations

Chile is taking a 30-man roster to Uruguay. Los Cóndores will compete against the Argentina XV, Brazil, and Uruguay in the South American 4 Nations. The tournament is of vital importance. Chile are to use the matches to determine their team for the RWC 2023 qualifiers.

The roster is a mixture of youth and experience. Head Coach Pablo Lemoine has six uncapped players on his roster. The five most capped players are  José Ignacio Larenas (39), Ignacio Silva (32), Tomás Dussaillant (27), Anton Petrowitsch (20), and Domingo Saavedra (17).

Larenas is the second highest point soccer on the roster with 50 points. The leader is fly half Santiago Videla who has 67 test points for Los Cóndores.

Petrowitsch is a notable recall for the tournament. Another is scrum-half Jan Hassenlechner. He last played  for Chile in 2017 and Petrowitsch last did so in 2018. Raimundo Martínez, and Salvador Lues are included after playing in France for the Toulouse Espoirs.

Marcelo Torrealba joins Hassenlechner as the scrum-half options. The Austin Gilgronos player will thus make his test debut in the South American 4 Nations. He previously played for Chile against the Maori All Blacks.

Chile will open their campaign on Saturday, October 17. Los Cóndores will do so against the Argentina XV. Game two will be against Los Teros on Wednesday, October 21. The final showdown will be against Brazil on Sunday, October 25. All matches will be played at the Estadio Charrúa in Montevideo.

Los Cóndores will travel to Montevideo on Thursday. The 30 players and accompanying staff will enter quarantine upon arrival.
