Seawolves add Brennan and Tamaivena twins to extended roster

The Seattle Seawolves have added three players to their extended roster for the upcoming Major League Rugby season. Midfielder Matt Brennan is joined by twin three quarters Sitiveni and Suliasi Tamaivena.

Brennan returns to Seattle after spending a season in New Zealand playing for Burnside in Christchurch. He was previously part of the Seattle Saracens and appeared for the Seawolves during preseason matches in early 2019. A High School All-American selection while playing for Shorecrest High and the Seattle Vikings, Brennan earned Collegiate All-American honorable mention while at Arizona State. The 24-year-old began his career as an openside flanker but has since switched to inside center.

The Tamaivena twins return to rugby at the end of collegiate football careers. Both played linebacker, with Siti attending the University of New Mexico and Suli at Utah State. The 26-year-olds were born in Fiji but moved to Renton, Washington, at a young age. Their father Levi starred for Fiji’s sevens team while young sister Finau made her test debut for the Women’s Eagles against New Zealand in 2018. The brothers can each play center and wing.

In other club news, Eagles World Cup prop Olive Kilifi is set to miss the 2020 season with injury. He will help coach the Seattle Saracens in the meantime. A young overseas replacement is currently training with the club but has yet to be confirmed. The Seawolves will host the Vancouver Island Crimson Tide at Starfire Stadium next Thursday, January 16, in the first of two scheduled preseason matches.
