Seawolves re-sign Canadian prop Djustice Sears-Duru

The Seattle Seawolves have confirmed another signature for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. Canadian prop Djustice Sears-Duru will continue with the team after a late arrival in the 2019 season. The 25-year-old recently returned from Japan where he participated in his second World Cup.

Visa delays saw the loosehead specialist arrive halfway through last year’s campaign, and it was a timely arrival as he took over the No1 jersey from injured Eagles rep Olive Kilifi. Sears-Duru would play 10 matches, starting 7 including the Championship Final victory over San Diego.

Still just 25 years old, Sears-Duru became the youngest Canadian to reach the 50-cap mark at the World Cup. He is the fourth prop confirmed for 2019 joining loosehead Kellen Gordon and tightheads Tim Metcher and John Hayden. Kilifi and fellow Canadian international Jake Ilnicki are expected to be announced shortly.
