Matt Tierney Makes Top 14 Debut for Castres

Matt Tierney will make his Top 14 debut for Castres on Sunday. The Canadian prop has been named to start at tight head for the round 12 fixture against last season’s runners-up, Clermont.

The 23-year-old from Mississauga, Ontario joined Castres this season from French south-west rivals, Pau. He joined Pau in 2016 from the Ontario Blues.

Also starting against Clermont will be Taylor Paris. The Canadian speedster will start on the left wing while Argentina’s Benjamín Urdapilleta will start at fly half.

All three players featured at RWC 2019. Tierney started against Italy in Fukuoka, and South Africa in Kobe; Paris faced New Zealand in Oita; and Urdapilleta played in all four of Argentina’s matches facing France and England in Tokyo; Tonga in Osaka, and the USA in Kumagaya.
