Women’s Growth in South America

World Rugby’s recent launch of the Try and Stop Us campaign to promote Women’s Rugby has seen a series of videos from the global governing body.  Of the videos one looks at South America.

In a short 5 minute documentary World Rugby visited and profiled progress in São Paulo, Brazil; Medellín, Colombia; and Buenos Aires, Argentina. All three locations had with them vastly different reasoning, providing further reason to watch the video itself.

Brazil recently earned core status for the World Rugby Women’s Sevens Series; rugby is booming in Colombia at a rate rarely experienced anywhere; while in Buenos Aires Buenos Aires the sport has been implemented in a women’s prison enabling the creation of Las Espartanas.
