Creevy Ruled Out of South Africa Tour

Los Jaguares have lost Agustín Creevy for their two-match tour of South Africa. The Argentine Super Rugby side have had their former captain ruled out with a traverse process spinal fracture.

The injury was suffered in the 19th minute of Saturday’s home fixture against the Blues in Buenos Aires. It saw Creevy replaced early by Julián Montoya who is now to be the team’s starting hooker for the away matches against the Lions and Stormers.

It remains unknown as to when Creevy will be fit again to play. His loss sees an opportunity for Gaspar Baldunciel who has been added to the roster to fly to South Africa.

The 22-year-old Baldunciel has been a regular for the Argentina XV but has not been capped by Los Pumas and is now likely to make his debut in Super Rugby. He has been selected by Gonzalo Quesada over last year’s third choice hooker Diego Fortuny.
