Sudamérica Rugby Sevens Circuit Coming in January

The Sudamérica Rugby Sevens circuit is just around the corner. 2019 will kick-off with international competitions in Uruguay and Chile in the beach resort destinations of Punta del Este and Viña del Mar.

The two tournaments are to have the representation of six countries from South America – Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Joining from other regions are Canada, the USA, South Africa, Germany, Portugal, and Russia.

The first leg of the circuit will be played in Punta del Este, Uruguay. The competition will be the Seven Punta HSBC 2019 and will take place on January 05-06. The setting will be the Campus de Maldonado, the same venue which hosted the inaugural event 30 years ago.

The second leg will take place on the following weekend in Vinã del Mar, Chile. The Nissan Rugby Seven Viña 2019 will be played at Colegio Mackay de Reñaca on January 12-13.

The winner of the 2019 Sudamérica Rugby Sevens will be revealed in Viña del Mar. There is more, however, on the line. The South American competitors, excluding Argentina, will qualify for the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series and to play in the 2019 Hong Kong 7’s, Las Vegas 7’s and Vancouver 7’s tournaments.
