Trébol de Paysandú are Uruguay Champions

For the first time in history Trébol de Paysandú are Uruguay champions. The western Uruguayan club overcame the odds to defeat Old Christians Club on Saturday in one of the greatest club finals of modern times.

At the completion of regular time there teams were tied at 22-22. This forced the match to have two extra ten minute halves. Yet the scores remained level at the 100 minute mark, forcing the game into a penalty shoot out. In the end Trébol de Paysandú were the winners.
