Tucumán win Seven de la República, Uruguay earn promotion

Tucumán have been crowned champions of the prestigious Seven de la República in Paraná. The Argentine province defeated Córdoba 21-12 in the Gold Cup Final after cruising past Buenos Aires in the Semi Finals. Consolation victories went to Santa Fe who edged Entre Ríos in the Silver Cup Final, and Salta who defeated San Juan in the Bronze Cup Final.

Earning promotion to the Championship Division for next year’s competition was Uruguay. Los Teros sent a strong team that outclassed its opposition before facing a tough challenge in the Promotion Final against another international side, Paraguay.

It’s a good result for Uruguay who are building their side for the upcoming South American Rugby Sevens series in January where they hope to win a spot in the 2018 Hong Kong Sevens.
