Pro D2 – Week 7 Preview

Week 7 of the Pro D2 is underway. The second division of French rugby is back after no matches last weekend. Argentina, Chile and Uruguay all have capped players featuring this round.

The opening game of week 7 was a Thursday fixture. Perpignan had home advantage against Dax. Uruguayan fly half Felipe Berchesi featured  for Dax. Starting the 10 shirt he kicked 8 points. A lot is expected of the Uruguayan for upcoming international duty.

Game two sees Aurrillac at home to Bayonne. The Basque side have three South Americans in their starting formation. Chilean Pablo Huete starts at second-row while former Pumas Juan Pablo Orlandi starts at Tight head prop and Martín Bustos Moyano does so at fullback.

Mont de Marsan is at home to Charante in game two on Friday. Argentine props Carlos Muzzio and Jerónimo Negrotto will start the match for the home side. Charente will have a pair of Argentine players too. The starting wingers are to be Lucas Caneda and Facundo Panceyra Garrido.

Former Argentina XV prop Victor Damian Arias will also play on Friday. He has been named on the bench for Montauban who are on the road against Carcassonne.

Two former Pumas will run-out as Nevers host Béziers. Second-rower Tomás Vallejos Cinalli starts in the engine room for the home side. Santiago Iglesias Valdez will run out for Béziers at hooker.

34-year-old Agustin Costa Repetto will also play hooker on Friday. He starts for Colomiers against Vannes. Joining him in the second half will be Sebastián Poet from the bench.

Completing Week 7 will be a solitary Sunday fixture. The Gonzalo Quesada coached Biarritz are at home to Massy. Line-ups for thew fixture will be announced on Saturday afternoon.
