Spinelli Joins Viadana

José Ignacio Spinelli is the latest recruit from Viadana. The back from Mendoza joins the club for the 2017-2018 season, joining from Italian rivals Pesaro.

Viadana’s official website noted that “he is a physically solid player with a good boot. He came to Viadana after returning to Italy and having played in the Serie A Championship with Pesaro Rugby, where he was noted for his talents.”

Spinelli was included in Argentina’s u18 roster in 2015. The Liceo Club center / fullback joined a number of players to have played in the recent World Rugby Junior World Championship in Tbilisi, Georgia. Among them are Tomás Albornoz, Juan Ignacio Cruz, Bautista Delguy, Facundo Ferrario, Marcos Kremer, Félix Luna, Nahuel Milán, Santiago Pulela, Matías Sauze and Bautista Stávile.

Uncapped by Argentina and also having not played for the Argentina XV, Spinelli could yet play test rugby for Italy. Born in 1997, Spinelli spent some of his childhood years in Italy. He played for DS Bronzini until u12 level.
