Conor Trainor Signs for Nevers

Canadian center Conor Trainor have signed to play for Nevers. The French third division side has qualified for the Semi Finals of the Fédérale 1. In looking to play next season in the Pro D2 it is recruiting  now.

Aged 27, Trainor joins Nevers from former Fédérale 1 side, Vannes. The club has had a solid campaign in what is its first ever season in France’s second division. Next season Nevers plans on joining Vannes in the Pro D2. The club is to face Aix-en-Provence in a battle for promotion.

Interest had been shown from Top 14 clubs but Trainor’s destination is to instead be Nevers. Club president Régis Dumange confirmed the contract.

Trainor has been one of Canada’s best performers in Europe this season. He is set to add to his 28 test caps in June. Home matches against Romania and Georgia await Canada as do Rugby World Cup qualifiers against the USA. Canada will look to Trainor heavily in these matches.
