Uruguayan Clubs Win Round 2 Matches in Argentine Competition

Uruguayan Clubs Old Boys and Carrasco won their round 2 Matches in Argentina. On Saturday Uruguayan clubs competed in Argentina’s national club competition. Montevideo sides Old Boys and Old Christians won their respective matches in the Nacional de Clubes B while Carrasco Polo faced Trébol de Paysandú (Uruguay) in a Torneo del Interior B clash.

Old Boys won a tight match 24-23 against Universitario de Salta. The victory came off a try scored in the final play of the match. The remaining Pool 1 match sees Atlético del Rosario playing host to CASI this evening.

In Pool 2 Tucumán club Cardenales competed to a 6-6 draw against Jockey (VM). Buenos Aires side Pucará downed Old Christans 17-10 in Montevideo.

In Pool 3 another Buenos Aires side tasted victory. Alumni defeated Jockey Club de Salta 43-33 in a highly entertaining fixture. Jockey de Córdoba were also winners, defeating IPR Sporting 29-26 in another match which went down to the wire.

In Pool Zona 4 Mendoza club Liceo lost at home against Jockey de Rosario, falling 40-25. La Plata won the remaining match 28-21 against Mar del Plata.
