Rugby Canada issues statement on ARC

Rugby Canada released an official statement late Monday evening addressing their disappointing Americas Rugby Championship results in the wake of back-to-back defeats against Uruguay and Brazil. Canada have now dropped to 23rd in the World Rankings ahead of their World Cup qualifier series against the USA this coming June.

General Manager of Rugby Operations Jim Dixon had this to say:

“It’s fair to say we are very disappointed with the results in this year’s ARC. These were ranking test matches and we set out to win every test match we play. This objective will never change.

“Our stated goal is to qualify for the 2019 World Cup and improve on our results. We will not waiver from these objectives. We will analyze all aspects of our performance in the ARC and make the necessary adjustments to ensure the best possible outcome in the June series.”

The statement in its entirety can be seen below.
