Díaz Bonilla To Miss Stormers Clash

Coming off their win over the Southern Kings Los Jaguares have been dealt a blow. Starting fly half in Port Elizabeth, Joaquín Díaz Bonilla is out of the round two clash against the Stormers in Cape Town.

Playing in his Super Rugby debut the Hindú Club product was delivering a fine performance before being forced off hurt. Late in the first half he collided with flanker Pablo Matera, and would be unable to return to play. His head injury will require him recovery time, thereby ruling him out of playing next weekend.

Díaz Bonilla suffered an ulcer in his cornea. The visual impairment and slight ocular hypertension effects will see alterations at fly half. Expected back is Nicolás Sánchez. The first choice Jaguares 10 is with the team in South Africa but did not play against the Southern Kings. Having also missed the opening round match, Juan Martín Hernández is also set to face the Stormers.

Additional injury concerns heading into round two exist. Center Matías Moroni suffered a deep cut in his ear. He is to be analyzed over the coming days and his involvement against the Stormers will be determined mid-week. No 8 Leonardo Senatore had to leave the match twice to have his knee examined. He will be fine to play next weekend.
