Phil Mack Announces His Retirement

Canadian scrum half Phil Mack has announced his retirement. The 30-year-old Victoria, BC native confirmed his decision on social media this afternoon. It follows the recent retirement of fellow Canadian test scrum half Sean White.

Mack hangs up his boots with 31 test caps to his name. He debuted for Canada in 2009 against Ireland and made his final appearance against Romania last October. The match against the Oaks was a Rugby World Cup 2015 fixture. Mack played in all four games, playing very well against France in particular.

He was also a regular player for his country on the HSBC Sevens Circuit. Earlier this year he participated in his 50th series, doing so at the Las Vegas Sevens. His form for his country in both versions of the game saw him join Tyler Ardron and Jeff Hassler for a period at the Ospreys in 2013.
