Season over for Boffelli

Los Jaguares winger Emiliano Boffelli suffered a season-ending injury on Friday. The Rosario 21 year old suffered ligament damage when scoring a first half try against the Kings. Buffalo leaped high to gather a Nicolás Sánchez cross-kick which he did so but landed awkwardly after a mid-air collision and was forced off immediately.

Having been given by referee Nick Briant the New Zealander subsequently ruled it a no try to instead red card Tomás Lavanini. Boffelli was replaced by Tucumán’s Ramiro Moyano who played out of position on the wing.

Needing six months to recover Boffelli will miss the remainder of Super Rugby as well as potential selection for Argentina in the June Internationals and Rugby Championship and likely also November. The uncapped Boffelli has been a bright-light for Los Jaguares but will now likely need to wait to debut until 2017.
