Chile Name Lineup for Brazil

Los Cóndores will take-on Brazil for the second time this year. Saturday’s test match will see Chile looking to complete back-to-back wins over Brazil and also make it two from two in the South American A Championship.

Coming off a 68-7 hammering of Paraguay on home soil Los Cóndores now travel to São Paulo to face a Brazilian side that is coming off a humbling home loss against an impressive Uruguay. Chile is to be greeted by unusually low temperatures, a factor likely to benefit the visitors.

Departing today for Brazil, Los Cóndores are doing so with the addition to two forwards who were not involved in the opening round fixture. Second-rower Luis Sepúlveda returns and will start the test match while Rodrigo Moya will act as Chile’s replacement hooker.

Missing are Chile’s professional players who are still on club duty in Europe. Los Cóndores will, however, still have 12 of the 23 athletes who defeated Brazil in the Americas Rugby Championship. The unconvincing 25-22 win in Santiago remains a fresh memory for os Tupis who are out for revenge.

Only five Condores players from the starting XV against Brazil remain. Those returning are back-rowers Javier Richard, Cristóbal Niedmann and captain Benjamín Soto, center Matías Nordenflycht and left winger José Ignacio Larenas.
