Cubelli scores as Brumbies win Super Rugby warm-up

In a match against the Queensland Reds on Friday evening (local time), Tomás Cubelli scored for the Brumbies who won what was a Super Rugby warm-up fixture. Played at the famous Ballymore Stadium in Brisbane, the home side was downed by Cubelli’s franchise the Brumbies.

The 31-18 win was the second warm-up fixture for the Canberra based franchise. It followed a 21-17 loss against the New South Wales Waratahs in Wagga Wagga last week. Starting both fixtures was the Buenos Aires scrumhalf.

Against the Reds the Belgrano Athetic number 9 crossed for one of his team’s five tries. He now appears set  to start for the Brumbies in their opening round fixture against last season’s beaten finalists, the Hurricanes.
