Mullins, Dala in for Cape Town

Promising Ontario Blues loose forward Matt Mullins will make his HSBC World Sevens Series debut this weekend, one of two changes to the Canadian roster headed to Cape Town. Veteran flanker Nanyak Dala is the other addition, with Conor Trainor and Adam Zaruba dropping out due to injury.

Belleville native Mullins has been training with the Maple Leafs development program for the past year and made his senior debut at the Pan Am Games in Toronto, but has yet to appear on the HSBC circuit. Dala missed the entire 2014-15 sevens season due to injury and made his last series appearance at Hong Kong in March 2014.

Canada will be desperate to improve upon a disappointing performance in Dubai that saw them finish in 13th place as winners of the Shield competition. They have been drawn in Pool D for the Cape Town tournament, along with New Zealand, Samoa, and France. The tournament kicks off on Saturday and will be streamed live on the World Rugby website.
