Pumas Without Creevy, Hernández and Tuculet for Barbarians

Argentina’s upcoming fixture against the Barbarians in London will see the depth of the South Americans thoroughly tested. It is to be the first fixture without European contracted players and sees the likes of Tomás Lezana, Emiliano Boffelli and Ramiro Moyano coming in for World Cup players.

Three more big name players are now to be added to Horacio Agulla, Lucas González Amorosino, Marcos Ayerza, Marcelo Bosch, Juan Martín Fernández Lobbe, Juan Figallo, Juan Imhoff and Juan Pablo Socino in missing the fixture. Captain Agustín Creevy and regulars Juan Martín Hernández and Joaquín Tuculet have been ruled out of the match.

Coming in to replace the trio will be center Gabriel Ascárate and hooker Santiago Iglesias Valdez while scrumhalf Martín Landajo is likely to take over the captaincy. Ascárate is contracted to the UAR to play Super Rugby while Iglesias Valdez has a contract until the end of 2015. He is likely to sign an extension to become the third hooker.
