Honduras Ready for Guatemala

The Federación Hondureña de Rugby (Honduras Rugby Federation – FRC) have confirmed the lineup for the upcoming international match against Guatemala. Honduras will face Guatemala on November 28 in a home test match at Las Vegas, Santa Barbara.

Head Coach Matthew Harper has named his lineup for the match but is yet to confirm who will captain the side. Harper told Americas Rugby News ”rugby is very young in Honduras, in less than 3 years we are at a point where we have 60 players at a skill and fitness level where they are trying out for a national team which is very encouraging.”

”we have been well supported by our neighbors, Guatemala, who have had a well established league for several years now. Our goal is to be Consur C champions within 5 years”.

Neither Honduras nor Guatemala are World Rugby members for the time being nor are Nicaragua. Honduras confirmed with Americas Rugby News that today they received an invitation to face Nicaragua in a friendly international during the CONSUR C (South American C) Championship next month in El Salvador.
