Pacaembu to host Brazil vs Germany

The São Paulo State Secretary of Sports has confirmed that one of Brazil’s most historic stadiums, the Estadio do Pacaembu will host the second of two rugby test matches between Brazil and Germany later this year.

The recent growth of rugby in Brazil and the future Americas Six Nations have enabled the possibility of Brazil playing at the venue on December 05. Paecambu has been used for soccer by a variety of popular professional teams and hosted six matches during the 1950 FIFA World Cup.

Germany will play two test matches in Brazil after the upcoming Rugby World Cup. The first will be in Blumenau, Santa Catarina seven days before São Paulo hosts the second.

The Estadio do Pacaembu has a seating capacity of 37,000.
